Longarm Quilting Services and Design Studio
I live in Colorado Springs with my husband and two dogs Suzie and Stella My studio is located in the lower level of a duplex home. We moved here from Maryland in 2016 where I had my longarm quilting business - The Quilting Bistro.
Like many, I started sewing as a child, making Barbie doll clothes. I slept under a quilt made by my grandmother. We all have those moments in our lives that leave a permanent impression, mine came in 2006 when I saw a watercolor quilt. All the different colors and shapes and textures, I had never seen anything that spoke to me as that quilt. I became obsessed with quilting, all types and genre. So started my journey of passion. I found the perfect medium when I took a thread painting class with Sue Patten, I bought a computerized longarm and have never looked back. But my career choice as an accountant had its limitations and the creative side was screaming to get out. In 2013, I left corporate America to let the creative side out: to pursue my passion.
When it comes to quilts, I love all genre - modern, traditional and everything in between. I love seeing the quilts others have created. I love how quilting can change a quilt. I like to say it brings the quilt to life. I also get to feed the geek side by designing my own digital quilting designs. Having my own business, lets me share my obsession for quilting and a chance to give back to the community through the charities I support such a Quilts of Valor, Quilter's Tears and charity quilts at my quild. I have an Innova with Lightening Stitch and3Mach3 AutoPilot. With Lightening Stitch, the stitches are always perfect. The Mach3 AutoPilot Robotics system lets me be the perfectionist that I am.
